What is Linkedin?

Linkedin, the popular social media site for job seekers and professionals, now has more than 75 million members in more than 200 countries. The company estimates that a new member joins Linkedin nearly every second.

Do you have a Linkedin profile yet? Like Facebook and Twitter, a basic Linkedin account is free. When searching for internships and jobs, developing a Linkedin profile should be your next step after creating a resume. Like a resume, your Linkedin profile needs to be highly professional, well focused and free of typos or spelling errors. Unlike a resume, your Linkedin account is also an opportunity to network with professionals in your field and display links to some of your professional work.
